Growing up in California and North Carolina, Kristy fostered a passion for community service during high school. She attributes her tenacity, energetic spirit, and sense of purpose to the mentors and role models in her life. Kristy graduated from the California Academy of Math and Science, the starting point of her ambitions, during which time she served as marketing director of the California Association of Student Councils (CASC). A member of CASC's Board of Directors, Kristy attended the Student Advisory Board on Education where she took part in authoring proposals to the State Board of Education. A firm believer in the idea of youth empowerment, she has also worked as a counselor to middle and high school students, helping to develop their leadership and communication skills.
As a pre-business and legal studies major at the University of California, Berkeley, Kristy aspires to one day traverse the continents to promote education, philanthropy, and leadership. Since becoming a Golden Bear in the fall, Kristy has been actively involved with the Asian Business Association on campus, and inducted into the inaugural class of the Asian American Justice Center’s Youth Advisory Council. Additionally, Kristy is also a 2010 Gates Millennium Scholar. In her spare time, Kristy enjoys graphic designing and savoring good eats from around the world.
