Organization: Helping Hand Developmental Center
To provide quality child development services to all children in Henderson County with a unique commitment to serve those who are challenged
Helping Hand Developmental Center is a non-profit organization which would use the $25,000 to expand in to a rural area of the county which currently has limited child care options. We would be an inclusive preschool setting serving children with and without special needs. We have trained staff, small class sizes, and low teacher to child ratios. We are a top quality, affordable child care center.
As a result of a recent community impact study, affordable, quality child care was one of the top three unmet needs in this county. Expanding our center would help meet the needs of the community. We have secured a location and building but have not been able to fully commit to the expansion due to the startup costs. We would need to purchase, furniture, materials, equipment, computers, and toys. Helping Hand has been in existence for 45 years. Recent expansion brings us to two centers and we continue to grow to meet the needs of the children and families of Henderson County.
