Replace our Pawsmobile

Replace our Pawsmobile

Issue: Community (Neighborhood Assist)

Wilmington, NC
Year Funded: 2012
Organization: Paws Place Dog Rescue

We save pets.  We nurse them back to health.  All animals are spayed or neutered. We provide a sanctuary for all until they are adopted.

Paws Place Dog Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill dog rescue organization serving New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick Counties in southeast North Carolina.  The dogs we save in our community may be unwanted, lost, abused, starved or relinquished by their owners due to the economic hardships facing our community today.  We are in desperate need of a reliable vehicle to replace our aging Pawsmobile.  This vehicle is critical in helping us transport dogs to the vet or to our adoption events.  Our current Pawsmobile has over 240,000 miles and is in serious need of replacement. Our community depends on the services of our no-kill shelter to save the lives of hundreds of dogs that would otherwise die or be euthanized.    We serve our community in many other ways.  We provide learning and leadership opportunities to students and we educate about the importance of spaying and neutering, the need for preventive heartworm medication, and proper vaccinations to control rabies and other diseases.
